FAFO Ritual Guide

Welcome. I'm glad you're here :)

FAFO stands for exactly what you think it does.

This ritual was designed for justice, consequences, protection, legal matters, and those particularly delightful situations where somebody has fucked around and you're ready for them to find out.

Sometimes people do shitty things and seem to walk away completely untouched. Sometimes you're dealing with lies, manipulation, betrayal, harassment, someone trying to damage your reputation, or a person who has caused real harm and refuses to take accountability for it. And sometimes the problem has gotten big enough that lawyers, court dates, contracts, custody hearings, or other legal matters are involved.

That's what this kit is for.

The intention here isn't random destruction or fucking up somebody's life because they annoyed you. We're working for justice. We're asking that the truth come out, that actions have appropriate consequences, that you are protected from further harm, and that the situation be resolved in your favor when you are in the right.

Basically: you made the mess. You can deal with the consequences.

If you're a baby witch, you'll find detailed instructions below to walk you through everything. No gatekeeping here.

If you're a seasoned practitioner, take a look anyway. I've included information on working with your kit, petition techniques, legal workings, and ways to continue the work after your first candle is finished.

Full Ritual Instructions

Start by cleansing yourself and your space using whatever method you normally prefer. You can use incense, smoke, Florida Water, sound, a spiritual wash, or whatever makes sense within your practice.

For this particular ritual, I want you to think about cleansing a little differently.

You're not trying to erase the situation or pretend you're no longer pissed about it. You're clearing away fear, confusion, other people's bullshit, and anything that is keeping you from seeing the situation clearly.

If somebody has been lying about you, manipulating you, intimidating you, or generally making you question your own reality, get that shit off you first.

Then sit down and write your petition.

For justice work, specificity matters.

Write the full name of the person or people involved if you know them. Then write exactly what happened and exactly what you want justice to look like.

Keep it factual.

[Name] is held accountable for the harm they caused me. The truth about this situation is revealed. Their lies are exposed and no longer have power over me. I am protected from further harm, and this situation is resolved fairly and completely in my favor.

That's an example, not a script you have to copy.

If what you actually want is for somebody to repay money they owe you, say that.

If you want lies exposed, say that.

If you want somebody who has been harassing you to leave you the fuck alone, say that.

If you're dealing with a legal situation, include the case number if you have one and be specific about the outcome you're working toward.

Don't just write "I want justice."

What does justice actually look like?

Write that.

Once you've finished your petition, hold it between your hands and focus on the situation being made right.

Visualize the truth coming out. See the people who need to understand what happened finally seeing it clearly. See the other person's bullshit no longer working. See yourself protected and on the other side of the situation.

If this is a legal matter, visualize yourself leaving the courthouse knowing the situation has been resolved in your favor.

Next, take your candle and carve the person's name into it.

If you're working on a legal case rather than one particular person, you can carve your own name, the case number, or words such as JUSTICE, TRUTH, PROTECTION, VICTORY, or FAVOR into the wax.

Apply a small amount of FAFO Ritual Oil to the candle.

Sprinkle a pinch of the herbal blend onto your petition paper, then lightly roll the dressed candle through the herbs.

While you're doing this, speak your petition aloud.

You don't need fancy witch words.

Say what happened. Say what you want. Mean it.

Place the candle into the included cast iron holder and set the holder inside a fire-safe bowl or dish.

Place your petition beneath the candle holder.

Light your candle and spend a few minutes focusing on your desired outcome.

I personally prefer justice work that leaves a little room for the universe to decide exactly what the consequences need to be. You may think you know precisely how somebody should get theirs, but sometimes there's a much more appropriate consequence you couldn't have planned yourself.

So once you've been clear about what happened and what needs to be made right, you can finish with something as simple as:

May the truth be known. May I be protected. May what was done be made right, and may everyone involved receive exactly what they've earned.

Then let the work do its thing.

Allow the candle to burn completely somewhere safe.

Once it has finished, you can burn your petition to ash in a fire-safe container and dispose of the remains away from your home.

If the situation is ongoing, especially with a legal matter, you may instead keep your petition somewhere private and continue working it with additional candles until the situation has been resolved.

Working With Your Kit

Each FAFO Ritual Kit contains enough oil and herbal material for up to 30 individual workings, depending on how heavily they're used.

And with this particular kit, that can be especially useful because justice and legal work isn't always a one-and-done situation.

Herbal Blend

Use for candle dressing, incense, petitions, justice work, protection work, legal matters, exposing lies, accountability, and workings intended to bring consequences to someone who has caused harm.

A small amount can also be sprinkled around your petition while working a longer-term case.

FAFO Ritual Oil

Use to dress candles, petitions, protective objects, legal paperwork, case files, journals, ritual tools, or other objects directly connected to the situation you're working on.

If you're dealing with a legal matter, you can very lightly dress a copy of your paperwork while focusing on the case being handled fairly and in your favor.

Please use common sense here. You do not need to smear ritual oil all over an original legal document that somebody actually needs to read. 😂

Work on a copy, touch a tiny amount to the corners of a folder holding your documents, or dress a petition containing the case information instead.

You can also wear a small amount of the oil before court, mediation, meetings with attorneys, difficult conversations, or other situations where you need protection and a favorable outcome.

Chime Candle

Use for justice, protection, truth, accountability, legal victory, and bringing a situation to its rightful conclusion.

Cast Iron Chime Candle Holder

Designed for use with the included chime candle and reusable for future workings.

Working FAFO for a Legal Matter

If you're using this kit for court, a lawsuit, custody matter, dispute, or another legal situation, I recommend making the work specifically about your case rather than focusing exclusively on punishing the other person.

Write your full legal name and case number on your petition.

Underneath it, clearly state the outcome you're seeking.

Then work for the people involved to see the truth clearly, for lies and manipulation to fail, for your evidence to be taken seriously, for your attorney to represent you effectively, for decisions to be made fairly, and for the matter to resolve in your favor.

You can dress a candle the night before an important hearing or court date and repeat the work throughout a longer case.

And because apparently I have to say this:

Spellwork is not a substitute for a lawyer.

Do your magic.

Then answer your attorney's emails, meet your deadlines, save your receipts, keep your screenshots, organize your evidence, show up on time, and do all the extremely unsexy mundane shit that actually helps you win a legal case.

Give the work something to work with.

Ongoing Use

FAFO doesn't have to be reserved for a full ritual.

Use the oil and herbs when a situation starts heating up again, before an important legal development, when you learn new information, or whenever you feel like somebody involved is attempting to interfere with a fair outcome.

You can also use the kit purely for protection and justice without having a specific enemy involved.

Sometimes the work isn't "make this person suffer."

Sometimes it's simply:

Let the truth come out. Protect me from what isn't mine. And make this shit right.

Honestly, that's plenty.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need experience to use this kit?

Nope.

The full ritual is designed so that someone doing this kind of work for the first time can follow it from beginning to end.

If you're more experienced, use the ingredients however they make sense within your existing practice.

What can I use FAFO for?

Justice, accountability, protection, legal matters, exposing lies, recovering what you're owed, stopping someone from continuing to harm you, and speeding up the consequences of somebody's own shitty behavior.

Can I use FAFO for court?

Absolutely.

FAFO can be worked alongside legal matters for protection, justice, truth, favorable decisions, and a successful outcome.

Just remember that spiritual work should be in addition to whatever practical and legal steps your situation requires—not instead of them.

Can I use this to curse someone?

FAFO was formulated as justice work.

That distinction matters to me.

The intention isn't "something terrible should happen to this person because I hate them."

It's "this person caused harm, and I am asking that their actions have consequences."

You don't have to forgive them. You don't have to wish them well. You don't even have to stop being pissed.

But let the work be about what they actually did.

What if I'm not sure who's responsible?

You don't need a name.

Write the situation itself into your petition and ask that whoever is responsible be revealed, stopped, held accountable, and prevented from causing further harm.

How often can I perform the ritual?

As often as the situation calls for it.

For an ongoing legal matter or conflict, you may want to repeat the work around important developments rather than burning candles constantly just because you're anxious about the outcome.

Do the work, handle your mundane responsibilities, and let it breathe.

Do I have to use all of the herbs and oil at once?

Please don't!

A little goes a long way. Your kit contains enough herbal blend and ritual oil for up to 30 individual workings when used primarily for candle dressing.

You may need that shit later.

Continue the Work

The ritual doesn't have to end when the candle burns out. If you'd like to continue the work, here are a few of my favorite companions to this ritual.

  • Bitch Be Gone Ritual Oil (clear away obstacles and conflict)
    • Continue dressing candles throughout your case to help remove difficult people, unnecessary conflict, and anything standing between you and a fair resolution. You may also anoint your body or paperwork.
  • Pay Me Now Ritual Oil (call in money that's rightfully yours)
    • If your legal matter involves unpaid wages, settlements, debts, or money owed to you, this oil is an excellent companion for continuing that work beyond the ritual.
  • Bc I Feel Like Death Tea (rest and recovery)
    • Legal battles are stressful, even when things are going your way. Take a break, make yourself a cup of tea, and give your mind a chance to rest before tackling the next step.
