Sweat It Out Ritual Guide
Welcome. I'm glad you're here :)
This ritual was designed to support motivation, energy, stamina, discipline, and forward momentum. Whether you're trying to build healthier habits, get back into the gym, tackle a project you've been avoiding, or simply stop feeling stuck, this ritual is here to help you get moving.
Sometimes people use this ritual for weight loss, athletic performance, recovering after a period of burnout, building consistency, or finally finding the motivation to start something they've been putting off. Whatever your goal is, don't focus on how far you still have to go. Focus on taking the next step. Then the one after that.
If you're a baby witch, you'll find detailed instructions below to guide you through the process. No gatekeeping here.
If you're a seasoned practitioner, take a look anyway. I've included some techniques I've found especially helpful over the years, along with a few ideas for getting the most out of your kit.
Full Ritual Instructions
Begin by creating sacred space. Light the included (online-exclusive) Palo Santo and cleanse both yourself and the space where you'll be working. As the smoke rises, imagine stagnant energy, procrastination, self-doubt, and excuses leaving with it. You're making room for movement.
If you've purchased this kit from a partnered brick-and-mortar shop, feel free to use your favorite incense, sage, cedar, palo santo, or even the herbal blend included to burn on charcoal as you cleanse and prepare your space.
If you enjoy working with music, now is a great time to put on something that makes you feel energized. Build an altar that reminds you what you're working toward. You might include a pair of running shoes, a journal, your planner, your business logo, a vision board, photos that inspire you, workout gear, or anything else that represents the future you're actively creating.
On a small piece of paper, write your petition in the present tense, as though it is already happening. Include the hurdles you're overcoming, the specific goals you're reaching, and the direction your life is taking. Be specific.
Some examples might be:
"I consistently show up for myself."
"I have the energy and discipline to accomplish my goals."
"I follow through on what I start."
"Going to Pilates three days per week gets me to my goal weight."
"My new way of eating gently eases the pounds off my body with comfort and safety."
I highly recommend creating a pact with the Universe, your guides, your gods, or whatever spiritual beings you work with. Decide what your part of the agreement is. Are you committing to the gym three days a week? Waking up at the same time every morning? Finishing a certain number of tasks each day? Following a meal plan? Spirit can absolutely open doors, but you'll still have to walk through them. The strongest results come when your actions support your intention.
Take a few moments to hold your petition between your hands. Read it aloud several times, allowing yourself to really believe the words as you speak them. See yourself taking action with confidence instead of hesitation. Imagine how it feels to move through your days with energy, purpose, and follow-through.
Hold the candle in your hands and charge it with that same intention. Imagine it filling with motivation, endurance, confidence, and steady momentum.
Using a pin, nail, or carving tool, carve a word or short phrase into the candle that represents your goal. Words like Discipline, Strength, Momentum, Energy, or Consistency work beautifully.
Dress the candle with a small amount of the included ritual oil, working from the base toward the wick to draw motivation and momentum into your life. Roll the oiled candle in a pinch of the herbal blend.
Secure the candle in the cast iron holder and place your folded petition beneath it. Fold your petition toward yourselfthree times, turning it clockwise between each fold to draw your goal closer.
Light the candle.
As it burns, don't think about everything you still have to do. Think about the very next action. The next workout. The next email. The next chapter. The next load of laundry. The next application. Momentum is built one choice at a time.
Allow the candle to burn completely in a safe location.
When the ritual is complete, allow your petition to remain beneath the candle overnight. The following day, burn it to ash, trusting that Spirit has heard your request. Then it's your turn. Keep your promises, honor your part of the pact, and let your actions become the proof of your intention.
So mote it be.
Working With Your Kit
Each ritual kit contains enough oil and herbal material for up to 30 rituals, allowing you to return to this work whenever you need an extra push. In fact, this is one ritual I encourage repeating regularly. Motivation isn't something you find once. It's something you practice.

Dress candles with a small pinch during each working to reinforce your intention and build momentum over time.

Use a small amount to dress candles before each ritual. You can also anoint journals, planners, workout equipment, vision boards, or other ritual tools dedicated to your goals.
Orange or Red Chime Candle
For motivation, new habits, and momentum.

A sturdy, reusable holder for your ritual candles. Keep it on your altar for future workings.

Your online-exclusive Palo Santo can be used before each ritual to spiritually cleanse yourself and your space before beginning your work.
FAQ
Do I need experience to perform this ritual?
Not at all. This guide walks you through everything step by step.
Can I use this for weight loss?
Absolutely, but it isn't limited to weight loss. This ritual can be used for exercise, healthier habits, productivity, motivation, endurance, business goals, creative projects, or anytime you're trying to build consistent forward momentum.
How often should I perform this ritual?
As often as you'd like. Many people repeat it each new moon as a motivational reset or whenever they notice themselves feeling stuck or unmotivated. Whenever you choose to perform the ritual, magick works best when you do your part, though.
Do I use everything in the kit at once?
No. Use a small amount of oil and herbs with each candle so your kit lasts for many future workings.
What if I miss a day or lose motivation?
No worries, there is plenty of herb and oil to repeat the ritual as needed.
But also... you're human. One missed day doesn't erase the work you've already done. Start again tomorrow. Consistency isn't about being perfect, it's about coming back.
